🔥 The Undercover Mission – Operation Iftikhar Bhatt (2004)

In one of the most daring covert missions in Indian military history, then Captain Mohit Sharma went deep undercover as “Iftikhar Bhatt”.
Living among terrorists, earning their trust, and striking from within — he played a decisive role in eliminating multiple high-value militant targets.

His unmatched courage, intelligence, and leadership led to the success of several critical operations and earned him the Sena Medal (Gallantry).

⚔️ The Last Battle – Haphruda Forest, Kupwara (2009)

During a fierce encounter in the Haphruda forests of Kupwara, Major Mohit Sharma led from the front.
Even after being seriously wounded, he continued fighting in close-quarter combat:

✔️ Rescuing injured commandos
✔️ Eliminating multiple terrorists
✔️ Refusing evacuation or retreat

He fought till his last breath, choosing duty over life.

🏅 Ashoka Chakra (Posthumous)

For his supreme sacrifice, unmatched bravery, and inspirational leadership, Major Mohit Sharma was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra — India’s highest peacetime gallantry award.
