August Homeschool Update | First Weeks of Homeschooling 1st Grade - Late Talker Speech Journey

We're kicking off our fourth year of learning at home with our son, once a late talker, now growing by leaps and bounds.

This year, while he may begin to outgrow some of our play based activities, I’m still carving out plenty of space for messy, hands on fun. Because play isn’t just for little kids, it’s where some of the best learning (and the most meaningful memories) happen.

Week 2 brought a lot of exciting firsts. We attended our charter school’s back to school event, met with our homeschool teacher, and introduced a few new elements into our routine.

Week 3 was all about going tactile. We pulled out a bunch of hands on resources, and the impact was immediate. Bringing our lessons to life in this way has added a whole new level of excitement and depth to our homeschooling journey.
