Japanese Garden - Cowden - Scotland | 4K | Pixel 8 Pro

Judging by the thumbnail, you may think that I somehow ended up on a different continent this week, but this garden is actually located close to the Scottish town of Dollar, at the Cowden Castle Estate grounds. The Japanese Garden in Cowden was started by the traveller Ella Christie at the beginning of the 20th century, but it was closed due to extensive vandalism in 1955 . It reopened just 6 years ago, and we visited it for the first time just a few weeks after opening, and were enchanted by its tranquillity and beauty. This summer, we came back to this amazing place to film it, and to see that it became even more magnificent than it was in 2019. The garden is home to many oriental plants as well as charming sculptures and installations, all surrounding a small lochan with artificial islands connected with narrow bridges. It is a perfect place for a few hours of unwinding and meditation. It is not as big as some other famous gardens of Scotland, but if you like Japanese vibes, then this is definitely a place to visit.
