I heard someone advise people to take 6 months to learn a tune before playing it publicly. WHAT? Using these tricks it will take much much MUCH less time. An upper level intermediate with good hand technique and some experience with double strung basics could play this tune, memorized, in an hour. The rest of us will take longer, but nobody will need six months. Lordy!
