I Tested 5 Papers for Watercolor Birds!

Did you know that painting birds on different watercolour papers will give you different results? In this video I will take you through the entire process of experimenting with 5 different watercolor papers. I found an unexpected surprise in pursuit of choosing paper for painting beautiful watercolour birds!

There are so many things to consider when choosing your paper. How it behaves is just one of them, you also need to know what YOU the artist would like to achieve.

👉I've been drawing and painting nature inspired subjects for over 40 years in various mediums starting with oils, acrylics, charcoal, pastel, and in latter years, watercolour. Birds have interested me in the last 25 years and have learned many ways to depict bird. I'm a huge fan of John Muir Laws and own his book "The Laws Guide to Drawing Birds". He is brilliant and constantly evolving and finding new ways of approaching these fascinating feathered creatures.
