This is my performance of Matteo Carcassi popular arpeggio study in A major. It is study no. 3 from his Opus 60 collection titled Venticinque Studi Melodici Progressivi (25 Progressive Melodic Studies). It is a fairly simple study at intermediate level which I would rate as a grade 5 piece. Nevertheless it is still a very pretty piece of music with a nice melody, interesting movement in the bass and interesting harmonic movement consistent with the late classical harmonic style.
This video was recorded recently at Rokit Studios in West London. The recording and video engineering was done by Mark Rose. The guitar I used in the video was made by a local guitar maker who is a personal friend of mine named John Beacock. He only made a limited number of guitars in his lifetime so his guitars are extremely rare, however he had a natural touch and his guitars have incredible clarity and sustain, and sing like a bird. The guitar was made in 2001 and has been recently restored as it sustained a lot of damage over many years of use in studies and for work from 2001 - 2012. The restoration was done superbly by Mike Walker who has now become a friend and my guitar tech.
