Bob Marley & The Wailers record their last rehearsal session at Criteria Studios in Miami, FL before heading north to Boston for the U.S. leg of the Uprising tour. This tour was cut short due to Bob’s illness and would include Bob’s last performance at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh, PA on
September 23rd, 1980. This rehearsal was filmed for 2 days on September 14-15, 1980. Bob was doing a performance of "So Much Trouble In The World" and he was suppose to sing it again on his last tour.
But unfortunately it didn't happened 😢
Bob's song "So Much Trouble In The World" was released in 1979 as part of his album Survival. It stands out as a powerful commentary on the struggles faced by people around the world, especially focusing on themes of social injustice, poverty, and inequality. The song reflects Marley's deep concern for the state of the world and his belief that change is needed, but also highlights the feeling of being overwhelmed by the challenges that humanity faces.
In the song, Marley addresses the troubled state of the world, focusing on the suffering of the marginalized and the unjust systems that perpetuate it. The lyrics, "So much trouble in the world," are repeated throughout the song, emphasizing the overwhelming challenges people face. It's a call for awareness, unity, and change, urging listeners to recognize the suffering around them and act toward improving the situation.
The song blends reggae with elements of funk and soul, featuring a steady rhythm, a prominent bassline, and a strong vocal delivery by Marley. Despite its somber message, the music carries a sense of hope and resilience, staying true to Marley's philosophy of fighting oppression while maintaining faith in a better future.
"So Much Trouble in the World" is often regarded as one of Marley's more politically charged songs. It reflects his commitment to social justice, echoing themes that were central to much of his music, such as the fight for freedom, equality, and human dignity.
Note: This song is remastered and it sounds pretty good 😍
