Pleading the General | 《拜告将军》 This piece originates from the legend of Lady Meng Jiang. It recounts how her husband, was conscripted to build the Great Wall. Braving the bitter cold, Lady Meng Jiang journeys thousands of miles to bring him winter clothes. Along the way, she encounters a general and pours out her sorrowful tale. It may be performed either as a solo piece—one singer taking on both roles—or as a duet.
此曲出自孟姜女故事。描述孟姜女之夫范杞郎被征筑长城，孟姜女为夫千里送寒衣，途中遇见将军，诉说了自己不幸的遭遇。一人唱两角或两人对唱均可。
