Today we're investigating the latest 5.56 price conscious suppressor from the folks over at Resilient Suppressors. They are most known for their fat Putnik and flashlight RS9, so will Stacy's mom join the ranks?
Stacy's mom is a moderately sized suppressor coming in just under 1lb. Fully wielded tubeless design to maximize volume for space, it features wrench flats on the base of the can, and is threaded for HUB compatibility. Most noteworthy though is the centralized end cap that is interchangeable to deliver more options for gas tuning, and signature. One being fully closed, and 2 being vented.
In our review we are focused on how it effects recoil control, how does it sound on a well tuned host versus a very picky host (Steyr AUG), and how does it compare to another option that is in that same price point (AB Suppressors A10).
All in all - my preference will go to Stacy's mom when I'm NOT being weight or size conscious and when I'm using the ultra light BCG from kAK with down vents, I will also keep it in the full vented configuration. This slows down things just enough that port pop is reduced by a fair amount and makes it incredibly pleasing on our 11.5" build. When it comes to the AUG, it's hard to get away from that port pop at the piston and at the ejection port, however, this did sound better with the fully closed cap, while it ran softer with the vented (AUG HATES being over gassed, even with the dedicated suppressor plug).
But the beauty of this is, you can have choices, and still save bank for ammo to train.
Be safe, be quiet, be dangerous.
