Leaf Shave - Shave Bowl and Shave Brush Review

A few weeks ago Leaf Shave contacted me and asked me if I would like to test out their new shave bowl and shave brush. They looked awesome, so of course I said yes!

The shave bowl is stainless steel with a silicone backing. The bottom of the stainless steel bowl has been cut out which lets you push the shave soap puck/bar out of the bowl by pushing on the silicone backing. This is definitely a great improvement over your traditional shave mugs which you might resort to using a fork to get out an existing shave puck/bar if you wanted to mix it up with a new scent.

The shave bowl also has aeration fins which are raised ridges in the bottom of the bowl that helps you build lather. These kind of remind of speed lather bowls which I vaguely remembering seeing online some time ago.

A nice thing about the stainless steel bowl is that it's extremely durable and resistant to cracking, chipping, and/or shattering that you would encounter with a normal shave mug/bowl that is made out of ceramic.

The shave brush is made out of zinc and also has a silicone grip. It weighs about 3.4 ounces while my other brushes weight in at around 2.2 ounces or less. As you can see it's significantly heavier than other brushes.

The bristles are synthetic vegan fibers, meaning no animal fibers are used. Traditional shave/shaving brushes use badge hair, so if you don't want any animals harmed and still want to use a shaving brush, then this is great brush to get.

It felt exactly like my badger hair brushes when I lathered my head with it.

Overall, I'm extremely impressed. You can't go wrong buying this. A shave brush and shave bowl is something I think everyone should own.
