Islam is very simple - unfortunately I believe people have been brainwashed by propaganda or have bad experiences with religions that may have been taught to them when they were younger. Islam is free from all of that - Islam is the truth of reality. We were created by something. The Creator. The Creator is not like us as no creator resembles their creation. The Creator is not a dog or a cow or a man or a tree. Every child innately knows this until they are brainwashed by their parents. I remember contemplating a creator creating the universe at the age of 4 before I even knew what religion was.

The Prophet (PBUH) reported that Allah said, "I created my servants in the right religion but devils made them go astray". The Prophet (PBUH) also said, "Each child is born in a state of "Fitrah" (innate natural disposition to God), then his parents make him a Jew or a Christian."

I highly suggest you study proofs of the truthfulness of Islam and proofs of prophethood of Muhammad pbuh. You can watch Farid Responds series titled "Proofs of Prophethood".

Islam is also truly unique in the fact that we have chains of narrations going back to our source - for every other religion that claims to be following a book or a teaching that is from God - they can't even demonstrate this or prove what they are following is what their leaders would want them to be following as they have no chains to their source.
