🌍 MTV Europe Top 20 – May 1995: Another unforgettable chapter in the golden era of 90s music! 🎶 Let’s count them down from the bottom up… 🚀
Kicking things off, we have Haddaway still flying high with “Fly Away” at #20, while U2 debut with the powerful Batman Forever anthem “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me” at #19. 🇮🇪 Britpop rises with Oasis’s swaggering new entry “Some Might Say” at #18, and Björk enchants us with the haunting and industrial “Army Of Me” at #17. Meanwhile, Bruce Springsteen keeps the romance alive with “Secret Garden” still hanging on at #16.
The middle section of the chart is a genre buffet: Jam & Spoon feat. Plavka bring their dreamy trance-pop “Angel (Ladadi O-Heyo)” at #15, while Live make a grunge splash with “Selling The Drama” at #14. Things get hotter with the ultimate sibling duo Michael & Janet Jackson, exploding onto the chart at #13 with “Scream” 🖤🔥. R&B grooves land twice — La Bouche at #12 with “Be My Lover,” and the irresistible remix of Bobby Brown’s “Two Can Play That Game” at #11. Crashing in from the US, Montell Jordan makes his MTV debut with the party anthem “This Is How We Do It” at #10 🕺.
Holding strong are Wet Wet Wet with “Julia Says” (#9), the nostalgic hit “'74-'75” by The Connells (#8), and The Bucketheads with their house classic “The Bomb!” (#7). The deep house flavor continues with Nightcrawlers feat. John Reid at #6 with “Push The Feeling On,” while Bryan Adams’ Spanish guitar ballad “Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?” drops to #5 💔.
And now... into the Top 4:
📈 At #4, the unstoppable Scatman John continues his surprise success with “Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop)” 🎤
🎸 At #3, Bon Jovi returns with their soul-baring power ballad “This Ain’t a Love Song” 💘
🎤 Still holding strong at #2 is Take That and their timeless tearjerker “Back For Good” 😢
But claiming the #1 spot this month…
