How to replace a timing belt on a MK3 Renault Megane 1.6 16v petrol, fitted with the K4M (858) engine.
The process involves preforming a coolant flush, with a bit of a shortcut/bodge employed to avoid needing to remove the front bumper to bleed the coolant.
Featured in the video is the Kaiweets KTI-W02 thermal imaging camera which allowed me to check the temperature of the air vents, and it has been useful for other automotive tasks recently.

Overall it is a handy enough engine to do a timing belt on, i had seen some other videos where i think the older versions of the engine feature a non keyed crankshaft pulley. Ie the pulley is held in place with friction rather than using a keyway to transmit its drive to the crankshaft. Having the keyway here makes it a lot easier to work with.
A slight bit of a quirk in that the camshafts are locked on the gearbox side of the engine using the tool in the kit i had which necessitates changing the two caps. A better design would have been two holes in the head to correspond with holes on the camshaft sprockets as renault do on other engines. However it is only a minor gripe.
