Huruf-e-Mutbaqah and Huruf-e-Munfatiha are two important categories in Tajweed. Huruf-e-Mutbaqah are the emphatic letters in which the back of the tongue rises, producing a heavy and deep sound. These include ص، ض، ط، ظ.
On the other hand, Huruf-e-Munfatiha are all the remaining letters that are pronounced with a light and open sound, without raising the tongue. Together, these categories help reciters understand the correct articulation and sound quality of Arabic letters while reciting the
Huruf-e-Muzlaqah and Huruf-e-Masmatah are two key categories in Tajweed.
Huruf-e-Muzlaqah include the letters (ر، ل، م، ن، ف، ب) that flow smoothly and lightly during pronunciation. These letters help maintain fluency and softness while reciting the Qur’an.
On the other hand, Huruf-e-Masmatah include all the remaining letters that do not have this flowing quality and are pronounced with a more stable and firm articulation. Understanding both categories helps improve clarity and fluency in Qur’anic recitation.
