Why did I stop using saturator plugins on my mastering chain? Most mastering engineers use the same off-the-shelf gear. To give my clients something truly unique, I went a different route. Digital emulations are great, but there’s no substitute for physical electrons of a full mix moving through a custom circuit because analog saturation creates no aliasing and a lower IMD. I’ve integrated a self-built processor into my mastering chain to handle harmonic saturation and "color" in a way software so far can't replicate. Why did I build a custom Mojo box for my mastering studio? Because my clients and my own music deserve a sound that stands out!
