At the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development in Seville, a powerful message was delivered: it’s time to transform the global financial system to better serve the world’s most vulnerable.
The newly adopted Outcome Document, the Compromiso de Sevilla, calls on the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) to do what it does best — unlock finance where it’s needed most: in Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and countries in special situations.
Despite a $482 trillion global financial system, only 4–5% of assets reach countries eligible for Official Development Assistance. UNCDF is working to change that by:
🔵 Deploying catalytic first-loss capital
🔵 De-risking early-stage investments
🔵 Crowding in private sector and multilateral bank funding
This milestone recognizes UNCDF as a trusted partner in reshaping development finance and creating inclusive pathways to prosperity.
