-Super Space Invaders '91 (Monde), également connu sous les
noms de Majestic Twelve: The Space Invaders Part IV (Japon)
et MJ-12 (Japon), est un jeu d'arcade de type shoot'em up à
défilement fixe, sorti en 1990 et édité par Taito
Corporation. Il fonctionne sur la borne d'arcade F2 de la
même société et, comme son nom l'indique, il s'agit du
quatrième opus officiel de la série Space Invaders (Space
Invaders II ayant été créé par Midway sans l'autorisation de
Taito).

Ce jeu est une version modernisée du classique Space
Invaders. Plus d'une décennie après Space Invaders, cette
version propose des décors colorés, des bonus fantastiques
comme la Fleur de Feu et le Laser Buster, de nouveaux effets
sonores originaux et un rythme de jeu plus rapide. L'ajout
le plus drôle et mémorable est sans doute la section
« mutilation de bétail », où il faut défendre des vaches
contre des soucoupes volantes qui fondent sur elles et les
emportent. Le jeu comporte toutefois suffisamment de
références à l'original pour conserver le charme de Space
Invaders. Par exemple, le son du premier niveau imite le
bruit sourd, grave et répétitif du jeu original.

-,Super Space Invaders '91 (World) also known as Majestic
Twelve: The Space Invaders Part IV (Japan) and MJ-12
(Japan) , is a fixed shooter arcade game released by Taito
Corporation in 1990; it runs on that company's F2 hardware,
and as the name suggests, is the fourth (official) title in
their Space Invaders series (Space Invaders II was created
by Midway without Taito's authorization).

The game is an update of the classic alien-zapping arcade
game. More than a decade newer than Space Invaders, this
version features colorful backdrops, fantastic power-ups
such as the Fire Flower and the Buster Laser, weird new
sound effects and faster game play. The funniest and most
memorable new addition to the game is the cattle mutilation
section, where you must defend cows from flying saucers that
swoop down and carry the cows away. There are however enough
references to the original for the game to retain the Space
Invaders charm. For example, the sound on the first level
mimics the continual deep repetitive thud sound from the
original game.
