The soundboard is the fundamental element of any guitar. Its characteristics largely shape its sound, which is why great care is taken with every detail during its construction.

Firstly, the rosette is selected, contributing rigidity to the soundhole of the soundboard, one of its most fragile points. This is a highly personal and distinctive choice for each builder, ranging from truly complex inlay compositions to the simplest minimalism.

Next, the structural bars are crafted, serving to maintain the concave shape of the soundboard. Given the extremely thin thicknesses involved, some element is needed to reinforce the structure and provide rigidity.

Finally, the bracing is worked on. This process is one of the most influential in terms of equalizing the soundboard, as its shapes, sizes, and thicknesses will determine the tensions generated at each point on the soundboard, essentially coloring its sound.

La tapa armónica es el elemento fundamental de cualquier guitarra. Sus características conforman en gran parte su sonido, por eso se cuida con tanto mimo cada uno de los detalles durante su construcción.

En primer lugar se selecciona la roseta, que aporta rigidez al agujero de la tapa, uno de los mayores puntos de fragilidad de ésta. Ésta es una selección muy personal y característica de cada constructor, existiendo desde composiciones de taracea realmente complejas, hasta el minimalismo más sencillo.

A continuación, se construyen las barras estructurales, cuya función es mantener la forma cóncava de la tapa. Aquí estamos trabajando con unos espesores realmente pequeños, por lo que es necesario algún elemento para reforzar la estructura y darle rigidez.

Por último, se trabaja el varetaje. Este proceso es uno de los más determinantes en cuanto a la ecualización de la tapa, ya que sus formas, tamaños y espesores, determinarán las tensiones generadas en cada punto de la tapa y, por así decirlo, coloreando su sonido.
