Summary: Ken Russell unleashes a mind-melting psycho-sci-fi horror freakout that plays like Cronenberg’s 'The Fly' slammed head-first into 'The Substance' (2024), then dunked in an acid bath of 'Fantastic Planet' (1973).

Our poor guinea pig is a twitchy psycho-physiologist who pumps himself full of sketchy drugs and climbs into a sensory-deprivation tank, only to crack open what he swears are genetic memories—and brother, the past is uglier than Big Mike on a bad weave day.

What follows is pure midnight-movie madness:
stoned Cheech & Chong nightmare visions,
William Hurt getting swallowed by an industrial-strength penis vacuum,
Blair Brown proudly rocking feral armpit fur,
and full-on assaults by Bib Fortuna look-alikes and killer monkey-nuts monsters.

It’s sweaty, squirmy, pretentious, ridiculous, and absolutely glorious—the kind of movie that dares you to keep your third eye open while it punches your pineal gland into submission.
