National Skills Coalition will host a webinar for the workforce field in August to unpack the implications of the federal budget reconciliation bill for state advocates and local workforce practitioners. The budget reconciliation bill passed by Congress and signed by the President on July 4th delivers harmful safety net cuts that will impact workers, students, and families, and threats to infrastructure and clean energy investments that communities are counting on. The bill will also put huge holes in state budgets, with some states already considering fall special legislative sessions to deal with shortfalls. Along with its own expert staff, National Skills Coalition will invite leaders from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and the US Climate Alliance to share their perspectives on the Bill’s impact on state and local communities.
