Discover the story behind MĀKMËL Wine, a testament to the enduring spirit of family, resilience, and community in Lebanon's Deir el Ahmar region. Rooted in a legacy spanning generations, our winemaking journey began with our father, symbolizing the enduring lineage of vineyardists in this historic terroir.

In response to Lebanon's economic challenges in 2019 and 2020, we took the initiative to support local vineyardists. What unfolded was more than just wine; it became a response to adversity - it became our mission!

Crafted from certified organic grapes of noble varietals, grown in the highest vineyards of the northern hemisphere - up to 1850 meters above sea level (approximately 6000 ft) - this unique terroir, steeped in winemaking history even before Roman times, features a rugged landscape with distinctive characteristics: a dry climate, harsh freezing winters, long harsh summers, 300 days of sun and blue skies, low rain precipitation, diverse soil types, and the purest water in the Mediterranean Levant... Our wines reflect the depth and richness of all these unique traits.

MĀKMËL, a name deriving from ancient Phoenician and Aramaic languages, meaning the "Residence of God"; hence, the wine embodies the character of both its namesake mountains and the resilient people living on its slopes. These hardworking farmers are family-oriented individuals who cultivate the land with love, faith, and devotion. Our commitment to winemaking mirrors not only the region's rich heritage but also the values of the community that calls these majestic mountains “home.”
