IKC round 5 Phillip Island

Round 5 of IKC was held at the Phillip Island go kart track we were meant do qualifying session then a race 1 and then reversed grid race 2. Phillip island changed format on us and made us do practice session then a qualifying session and then reverse grid of qualifying for just the one race.
Kart I had during practice and qualifying seemed of the pace as others just drove away on me and I just put it down to that I quite heavier than most of the field.
I end uo qualifying 10th out 20 drivers so started middle of the field for the race.
Had good Start then lost quite few positions at the middle hairpin and and dropped towards rear of the field.
Didn't give up and powered back and started making some passes and finally hit the front and for first time led a IKC race and led for few laps before having battle with a junior driver.
End race I thought I'd finished 2nd by a whisker but the timing had me as a 1st time IKC race winner.
