Linux From Scratch - LFS 8.1 Second Glances:
I went and installed LFS, AGAIN! Crazy right?? The version of the current build is 8.1. I built the main system and XFCE along with some basic web, sound, and video functionality.
Part of this video talks about installing Chrome and Basilisk Web Browsers in LFS. A quick alternative to compiling some of the other source based browsers.
I built this on a Toshiba Satellite E205 with a 120GB SSD and 8GB RAM.
*I got the video webcam working, but the sound was just awful. I really couldn't get it to record at a decent level without a lot of hissing. I tried to clean this up with Audacity which caused issues with the sync and volumes, but as bad as it sounds, it's better.*
