Leaving Hawkshead, we head towards Roger Ground, a small yet picturesque hamlet that epitomizes the rustic charm of the Lake District. The route takes us south, skirting the edge of Esthwaite Water. This serene lake, surrounded by dense woodlands and open fields, mirrors the sky and creates a mesmerizing backdrop for our ride. As we leave Esthwaite Water behind, we venture into unknown territory with a right turn that leads us towards Thwaites Head. From Thwaites Head, our route veers east towards Windermere, the largest lake in England. The anticipation builds as we approach this iconic body of water. The journey through High Stott Park culminates at the beautiful Lakeside area, where the shimmering waters of Windermere stretch out before us, framed by the surrounding hills.
