Located in the North Brunswick strip mall is a barbecue smoke house with a Mediterranean twist. While dining, I witnessed a spectacular fire show watching the talented chefs prepare the meats holding swords among huge fireballs bursting from the grill.

During the show, I was sipping a refreshing fresh mint lemonade. This frozen mocktail had a minty, lemony, tart flavor. I slurped it down to the last drop!

While I praise the performance skills of the chefs and the minimal wait time for the entree, I cannot say I feel the same regarding their culinary skills.

The salad with shwarma sauce was not very appealing in terms of looks and taste. While shwarma does pair well with certain halal cuisine, it did not work as a salad dressing. The unheated yams did not help matters, either.

The beef ribs fell right off the bone, but the seasoning was lacking resulting in a bland flavor. The beef was okay with the barbecue sauce, but I could not acquire a taste using any of the other provided sauces.

Another issue I have with the main course are the included sides. As I observed the multiple vegetables with an attempt to adorn this plate, it unintentionally had the opposite effect. I even questioned to myself, “Am I dining in a smoke house or a vegetable garden?”

Regretfully, this style of barbecue is not suited for me. However, I acknowledge the fast service, tasty frozen drink, and the excellent fire show performance.
