Shooting the Rose Parade on iPhone

This is just a raw documentary style field test from the 137th Rose Parade this morning where my goal was pushing this iPhone sensor to its absolute limit in heavy rain but things got messy fast. My variable ND filter got completely soaked like water actually got trapped inside the layers so you will see the contrast shifts wildly in some shots and created this weird blooming haze that i just could not wipe off.

Despite the filter mess up it was cool seeing if the iPhone could actually stand the rain since i just shot this a few hours ago and edited it immediately to test the speed of the mobile workflow. It is crazy seeing how these small sensors are growing year by year even with a soaked lens and flat lighting.

Im planning a full breakdown video on the settings and the soaked filter situation and the process of shooting and editing this on the same day so stay tuned for that.

I guess with this many flowers someone had to water them eventually.
