I actually did not know that this was asked at tech interview questions until I came across a similar video on MindYourDecisions recently.
Spoiler below:
The solution to this puzzle uses a combinatorial trick which we covered in an earlier video: invariant! And it uses one of the most common forms - parity invariant!
