We take a big step in getting our #ToyotaLandCruiser back on the road by picking up a complete Chevrolet 5.3 Gen V LT swap complete with 8 speed transmission.
We picked up the engine from a random on facebook marketplace and while the seller seemed trustworthy enough, we are putting big faith into the condition of engine and transmission without ever seeing it run.
The #1fzfe engine in our #80series Land Cruiser was on it’s last leg and while a Toyota engine can basically run all the way up to 500k miles, we plan on taking this rig to some really far and remote places and we decided that a low miles LT swap would be the best choice to give the cruiser the horsepower, mpg, and modern drive ability it needs. Fingers crossed the engine turns out to be good and it’s smooth sailing from here on out.
