The Iranian government has published footage to support its claim that Mahsa Amini died from a pre-existing illness while in custody, and was not beaten to death as alleged by her family. Surveillance footage aired October 7, 2022, purportedly shows the 22-year-old collapsing at a morality classroom after she was arrested on September 13 for allegedly violating the country’s strict dress laws.
