Hey everyone!! This is the sixth video of our new playthrough using the Under One Rule origin. Here's the playlist link for all videos of this run: • Under One Rule vs 25x Prethoryn Scourge
I mean, how broken can our Luminary get? I think that it paid off to put up with all the craziness our empress did in our last video.
Origin:
Under One Rule - With this Origin, our ruler is the main differential, giving us massive boosts to different fields of our society depending on our trait selection. Our Ruler also has the Luminary trait, which grants extra stability and unity from jobs scaling with the luminary points we acquire throughout the game. Our goal is to reach somewhere around 30 luminary points, but that's a very absurd number. We'll see how far we get. There a lot of events in this origin that can modify the outcome of our ruler. In the end, if we do everything properly, we can have 3 destiny traits in a single leader. It just get ridiculous in the end-game.
Government:
Dictatorial - We need it to grab the Under One Rule origin, but it also gives a very nice reduction to our pop amenities usage and edict fund. Considering we are going to have a very high level ruler, those bonuses are going to be big. On top of that, Dictatorial also gives our ruler +25% leader exp gain, completely offsetting the negative effects of Perfected Genes trait.
Ethics:
Xenophobe - For the extra pop growth speed and outpost influence cost reduction. It's really important we grab as many systems as possible
Militarist - Extra ship fire rate and also allows us to use the No Retreat war doctrine. It also allows us to have the Unwavering Aggressor trait for our Ruler, which is one of the best to have
Materialist - Extra research speed and it's a prerequisite to have the Titan of Industry trait, imo the best trait in the game by far. It also allows us to have the academic privilege living standard, giving our pops extra research from jobs.
Civics:
Masterful Crafters - Our economy is very poor at the start of the game and this is by far the best economy civic today. It grants us basically +1 building slot after we construct our first industrial district. It gives more trade value, which is energy at least before patch 4.0, and also increases our artisans output.
Byzantine Bureaucracy - A uncommon choice, but a very powerful one. It increases the base output of our administrators from +4 unity to +5, effectively +25%. This bonus is multiplicative with every unity modifier we get and, since we want to have as many luminary points as possible (and in turn more unity from jobs modifier), this number will get crazy later on. On top of that, the +1 stability for every administrator is just a nice bonus.
Traits:
Perfected Genes - It always comes with the Under One Rule Origin. It costs 0 points and it's basically a tradeoff: your leaders live longer, but earn less EXP.
Intelligent - Giving us extra research at the start of the game, always nice to have.
Ingenious - The best trait for workers and in combination with Desert World preference (which has a higher chance of rolling generator districts), makes technicians the backbone of our economy early on (paired with the artisans from masterful crafters).
Traditional - Giving us extra unity output that enhances our administrators even further. It also only costs 1 point, so I really like this trait for getting traditions and specially ascending quicker.
Unruly - Gives us 2 points and it's pretty negligible in the early game, later on we must swap it to reduce our empire sprawl.
Sedentary - Increases the resettlement costs and reduce pop growth from immigration. It's bad if you do a lot of resettlement in the early game (void dwellers I'm looking at you)
Ruler:
Scientist - Unwavering Aggressor - Gives us +15% Ship Fire Rate and +10 tracking and chance to hit at the Max Level. Really OP military bonus. There aren't a lot of tracking and chance to hit sources in the game, so it helps out artillery ships by a lot, specially against the crisis.
Titan of Industry - One of the best traits in the game, very good in the beginning and it just gets even better later on. +30% minerals from jobs (6 mineral repeatables) and +15% alloys and CG from jobs. Remember that we don't have a lot direct modifiers to our alloys and CG production, so these bonuses are very meaningful to have.
