Heavy Snowfall and the Family’s Prayer of Gratitude for It

Heavy snow had fallen in the Dura region, covering the land and mountains in a blanket of white. The cold air brought freshness and hope, and the people of the area were happy and joyful to witness this blessing. For them, the snowfall was a sign of abundance, a fruitful year, and a brighter future. The grandmother’s family was no exception to this shared happiness. Despite the cold weather, their hearts were warm and their lips filled with gratitude as they offered prayers of thanks for this divine gift. Although the heavy snowfall made their daily tasks—especially farming and caring for livestock—more difficult and demanding, these hardships did not lessen the value of the snow in their eyes. While they were busy taking care of the farm, the goats suddenly escaped from the pen and headed toward the mountains. Nasro and Mahbouba became worried and immediately went after them. The fear that wolves might attack the goats filled their hearts with anxiety. Moving quickly through the snow and cold, they searched and were fortunate to find the goats soon. Once they were sure that no harm had come to the animals, they breathed a sigh of relief and thanked God—for the snow, for safety, and for the peace that returned to their hearts.
