Is it true that Black women don't prioritize their weight because they should be free from judgement and above reproach? As someone who has been on the thicker/larger side during high school, I know what took me there and I know what got me out of it. My mom, dad, and brother all struggled with being bigger and have all died in untimely ways. We can't keep celebrating fatness, I refuse to celebrate something that is detrimental to our being. It's one thing to exist in a larger body, but there is something sinister about promoting bigness.
