ROOV - MEET BEYERS

A new (2022)-remix from the older days.
This song is about the 'West Memphis Three': a group of three teenagers controversially accused and convicted of a triple murder in 1993.
In 1993 Damien Echols (18) was arrested, together with Jason Baldwin (16) and Jessie Misskelley (17), and accused of murdering three eight-year-old boys in West Memphis Arkansas: Steve Branch, Michael Moore and Christopher Byers.
Damien Echols - gothic dressed - was thé easiest target (..), because he didn't fit in the West Memphis Community.
In 1994 judge David Burnett sentenced him to death by lethal injection.
He was released from Death Row in 2011 by Alford plea.

In 2012 Amy Berg made a documentary about this case ('West Of Memphis') and after watching it I came to the conclusion that there could be another 'person of interest': Christopher Beyers stepdad: John Mark Beyers, who adopted Christopherd.

Anyway, this case intrigues me that much, that I decieded to make a song about it, with actual audio-footage from the case and a main role for Christopher Mark Byers.
