GOODYEAR-WELTING - How a Ludwig Reiter shoe is made

A classic, welted Ludwig Reiter shoe is manufactured according to the Goodyear method in around 300 steps by highly qualified workers at the Ludwig Reiter shoemanufactory in Vienna, Süßenbrunn. This method, which is still mastered and used by only a few shoe manufacturers worldwide, gives the shoes a special degree of strength, durability and wearing comfort.
The classical technique of welted sewing is still the unsurpassed, internationally renowned and therefore very contemporary way of producing quality shoes: a fine example of Ludwig Reiter's leitmotif: "The future of tradition".
In the following, we, the team of Ludwig Reiter Schuhmanufaktur, would like to show you the creation of a classic 'Budapester' by means of the most important stages of work.
