🔥 From Celebration to Smoke: The Float8 Fort Lauderdale Fire & Recovery Story

Just hours after finishing our 5-year anniversary message, a lithium-ion battery fire broke out in our laundry room at Float8 Fort Lauderdale.
The fire burned quietly for nearly 10 hours before being discovered the next morning. Thankfully, no one was hurt — and miraculously, every float tank survived untouched.

Smoke and soot filled the entire center, forcing us to close for almost three weeks. During that time, our Team8s worked tirelessly for 10 straight days to clean and restore the space by hand before we could afford to bring in professional fire restoration and duct repair.

We’re incredibly grateful to Absolute AC & Duct Repair, who replaced our ductwork in exchange for floats, and to our amazing float family for their patience, messages, and encouragement.

This video shares our story — from the moment the fire started, through the cleanup, and into our reopening. It’s another unforgettable chapter in the Float8 journey, and a reminder that even through smoke, we can always return to stillness.
