“Exploring Casper, Wyoming 🚂 | Oregon Trail Wagon Ride, Historic Trails Museum & Downtown Tour”

Join us as we take an immersive wagon ride tour with Historic Trails West just outside Casper. Riding a replica pioneer wagon along original Oregon Trail ruts, they experience bumpy terrain and learn about Casper’s historical importance as a key convergence point for the Oregon, California, Mormon Trails, and Pony Express routes. After the hour-and-a-half ride, we enjoy a fresh Dutch oven dinner featuring pork chops, potatoes, green beans, muffins, and dessert.

Next, we visit the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center in Casper, a free museum offering beautiful views and engaging exhibits about westward expansion. Highlights include a multimedia presentation, hands-on activities like simulated river crossings, stagecoach rides, and life-size pioneer dioramas. Sierra especially enjoys interactive activities related to the hardships pioneers faced.

After the museum, we explore downtown Casper, a historic area shaped by the early 20th-century oil boom, with shops, restaurants, and a famous cowboy outfitter (closed on Monday).
