Düsseldorf is the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia (Nordrhein-Westfalen) in Germany. Düsseldorf was originally a village (Dorf) but nowadays it is one of the biggest cities in Germany with 620,000 citizens. The city is located at the Rhine and the Düssel Rivers. Düsseldorf is located in the centre of the Ruhrgebiet, the Rhineland Metropolitan Area, where the heart of the German industry lies. The neighboring town is Cologne (Köln). Düsseldorf has many interesting sites like the Neuer Zollhof at Media Harbour, Rhine Tower and Rhine Knee Bridge, the riverbank promenade, Düsseldorf Marina and Germany's busiest shopping street Königsallee.
