Du Kiddy Artivista presentation aims to analyze certain Afro-diasporic signs visually and reveal their sonic applications within artistic practices created in the diaspora. To this end, visual readings of selected artworks and their signs will be conducted, along with organized musical listenings that highlight the use of an Afro-diasporic sonic signography.
Du Kiddy Artivista is a musician, composer, producer, and Ògá at CCRIAS. A PhD candidate in Musicology at the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP), he also holds a master’s degree from the same institution and a bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Campinas (Unicamp). His artistic trajectory includes an extensive body of original work, with notable albums such as “Cabeça de Nego” and “Manifesto Preto.” Since 2022, he has worked as an educator at the Museu Afro Brasil Emanoel Araujo, contributing pedagogical proposals that integrate music, religion, art, and African and Afro-diasporic cultural practices.
