Fire Incident Reported in Brmari, Timely Response Prevents Major Damage

A fire incident was reported today in Bramri area of Drugmulla Tasil, where a one-storey residential house caught fire. However, prompt and coordinated action by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, and Defence Fire and Emergency Services, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and local civil society members helped control the blaze in time, thereby preventing it from spreading and averting a major tragedy.

Teams from Fire and Emergency Services, Civil Defence, and police personnel from Police Chowki Durgamulla rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information. With the collective efforts of these agencies and assistance from local residents, the fire was successfully brought under control and the surrounding village was saved from any further damage.

Tehsildar Durgamulla also visited the spot and interacted with the affected house owner. He assured him of immediate relief, stating that necessary assistance would be provided within 24 hours, likely by today evening. The Tehsildar further informed that directions have been issued to the R&B Department to prepare a detailed damage assessment, which will be submitted to the district administration for sanctioning fire relief compensation.

Meanwhile, officials from Fire and Emergency Services and Civil Defence confirmed that the situation is fully under control. They also issued an advisory to the general public, especially in view of the ongoing winter season, urging people to exercise caution while using heating appliances such as heaters, gas cylinders, electric devices, and other heating equipment. Citizens were advised to ensure that all such appliances are switched off before going to bed to prevent fire-related incidents.
