In this video Coach Nate Helming coaches the Freestyle Running Seminars attendees on the stable arm drill.
This drill is commonly used to help athletes not swing their arms side to side and keep their torso upright and square in the direction they are moving. One of the more interesting side effects of this drill is the automatic increase in cadence. The athlete automatically starts taking shorter and faster steps, which in return makes your upper body more stable and further helps to avoid rotation in the upper body and inefficient arm swinging side to side.
If you've ever attended a Pose Method or CrossFit Endurance Seminar, you have probably been exposed to the stable arm drill.
Here is a short video with Nathan Helming with the The Run Experience taking some athletes at Foundation CrossFit in Seattle through the drill.
So simple, So effective.
