There has been a slow start to spring in Devon, with a cold, persistent, easterly wind keeping temperatures down through much of April and into May. This is my first swarm on Dartmoor, and it is a good size prime swarm on a discarded Christmas tree, close to the ground, so it could hardly have been an easier take.
This is Part 1, while Part 2 deals with hiving the same swarm in a top bar hive, less than half an hour later.
You will find a lot of free stuff on my site at https://biobees.com including plans for top bar hives and our international natural beekeeping forum.
My books, including The Barefoot Beekeeper and Managing a Top Bar Hive (the workshop manual for balanced beekeeping), are available here - https://biobees.com/books.php
