First test run of the YK6101

This is my first time out with the Yikong YK6101.

With a small group of the usual suspects on board we met at newton linford entrance of Bradgate park.

Gummy bear brought his traxxas TRX6 Hauler and I was initially keen to put the Yikong up against it.

After only a few yards of noticed my poor preparation was going to kick me in the ass on this outing.

the wheel and tyre change to proline Azteks and a generic set of 1.9 beadlock aluminium wheels added an extra 5mm on from the stock 115mm tyres, further more the shocks appeared to have no oil in them which meant the body sagged substantially causing excessive rubbing on the front arches.

Whilst it's annoying that this was missed during QC this fundamentally is my fault as typically a car gets a nut and bolt check before I throw a car on the trail.

The plan of having a versus against the trx6 suddenly turned into a game of survival hoping that the usual route we take at Bradgate wouldn't split a tyre or rip the bodyshell.

Confidence using the car on the day wasn't amazing, and I'd had thoughts of not uploading this video at all, but despite the issues I think once addressed this car has some serious potential.

This video highlights downfalls on my part, with some minor issues on the car, but then again no crawler is perfect.

The runs pointed to what needs doing to get the car running right so wasn't a complete waste of time.

This is a work in progress video, so I hope the next outing will be far more positive.
