Italian immigrants got lynched ‘cause “they mixed with the blacks,”
Know that down in New Orleans, 1891, it was March 14th,
Eleven men were beaten, some stripped and hung by demons,
Bludgeoned and shot, left bleeding,
Then left to rot, stopped breathing,
You see, back then they would say,
We’re not white, like shades of gray,
But as time went on, shit changed,
Kissed their ass to pave our way,

This country was built from death and suffering. The land was taken from the Natives, Africans were made slaves to build it from the ground up, poor groups from around the world came here for a new life only to meet similar oppression and poverty that they tried to escape. Even now, in the modern day, people are still searching for equal rights and treatment. It’s up to us to cut the bullshit and make things better. Make sure that all the people who suffered and died throughout this country’s history did not do so in vain.
