Hey Fam!

This video has a very different tone than most of the videos I've posted on my channel and that's because it is a more serious topic. Everything I post on this channel is with the intention of sharing my authentic experience in hopes of giving someone as much possible insight and exposure to what pursuing medicine could look like. I didn't have anyone to go to to give me a reference point for what this journey would look like and relied heavily on youtubers and vloggers for information. I haven't spoken much about the phases of burnout that I've experienced during this journey primarily just because there's barely any time to stay in that place without falling behind and I don't usually find I have a lot of time to document and reflect on it, but I felt it was really improtant to capture this most recent wave and share it with you all. I want other students who feel the same way or struggle with the same sentiments to know that it is normal, it is extremely common and it doesn't make you any less fit for the medical field. So, I wanted to share my experience with it as well as how I try my best to cope with burnout in med school.

Overall, I want this channel to be a journey for me to reflect on but also to share with all of you! I have an unconventional story and tons of unique experiences that you all may relate to and I can't wait to share. I want this channel to be a place where you feel like you can share the questions you've always had about being a pre-med and med student. 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙈𝙚

I'm a Christian who loves eating 🥙, making music 🎼, and watching sports🏈🏀. I earned a bachelor's of science in Music and a Bachelor's of science in Biochemistry in May 2020. After finishing my undergraduate study, I worked as a Medical Scribe in the Emergency Department! If you haven't guessed by now my favorite color is purple 💜and some of my favorite shows are This is Us, All American and Love is Blind. I am the first in my immediate family to pursue the MD path👩🏽‍⚕️ and there was so much I just didn't know. I've learned so much that I want to share with others like me as well as sharing my inner most thoughts as I embark on this new journey of becoming an MD.
