I’m sharing my plan for making a birthday quilt for a friend, from choosing a simple, beginner-friendly design to hunting through my ever-growing fabric scrap stash for the perfect colours and textures.

Along the way, I’ll show you the quilting tools I’ve just invested in (including a free motion quilting foot), the fabrics I’m keeping just for special projects, and how I’m mixing quilting cottons with linens to make this project truly my own.
