This Video Lab covers the use of the binocular compound light microscope. The parts of the Microscope are named, including ocular (eyepiece) lens, objective lenses (Scanning, Hi-Power, Low-Power & Oil Immersion), condenser lens, Iris Diaphragm lever, and focusing knobs. Reference is made to the Magnifying Power, Resolving Power, Field of View, Depth of Focus and Estimating the size of an object when viewed through microscope. A brief description of both the Binocular Dissecting Microscope and an Electron Microscope are given.
