Case summary-
Charlie Adelson was once a wealthy periodontist in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Wendi Adelson is Charlie's sister. She was married to Dan Markel who was a law professor at Florida State University.

In Tallahassee Florida in the year 2014, Wendi Adelson and Dan Markel were going through a bitter custody battle of their two sons when Dan was shot twice in the head while sitting in his car, parked in his garage. He would die 14 hours later at the hospital.

Those responsible for Dan's death include Charlie Adelson, Charlie's ex-girlfriend, Katherin Magbanua, and two hitmen hired by her (Sigfredo Garcia and Luis Rivera). Charlie Adelson is the fourth person convicted in connection to this case. Charlie was convicted of first-degree murder, conspiracy and solicitation in the murder for hire killing of his former brother-in-law, Dan Markel. Donna Adelson, Charlie and Wendi's mother, was also arrested and charged in connection to the murder-for-hire. Donna is now awaiting trial. Dan Markel's ex father-in-law, Harvey, and ex-wife, Wendi, have not been charged in connection with his murder.
