Trauma Ray is a shoegaze band hailing from Fort Worth, Texas, known for their fusion of heavy, distorted guitar work with ethereal melodies and introspective lyrics.

Formed by Uriel Avila and Jonathan Perez, the band expanded to include bassist Darren Baun, drummer Nicholas Bobotas, and guitarist Coleman Pruitt.

Their music draws inspiration from bands like Slowdive, Hum, and Deftones, creating a sound that’s both crushing and beautiful.

In October 2024, Trauma Ray released their debut full-length album, Chameleon, on Dais Records.

The album showcases their signature blend of doomy riffs and melancholic atmospheres, with tracks like “Bardo,” “Spectre,” and the title track “Chameleon” highlighting their dynamic range.

Lyrically, the album delves into themes of death, transformation, and existential introspection, reflecting Avila’s background and personal experiences.

Prior to Chameleon, the band released several EPs and singles, steadily building a dedicated following.

Their self-titled EP in 2018 marked their initial foray into the music scene, followed by subsequent releases that refined their sound and expanded their reach.

Trauma Ray’s live performances are known for their intensity and immersive soundscapes.

They have toured extensively, sharing stages with bands like Deafheaven and Panchiko, and have performed at notable venues across the United States.
