First off, the game needs to be run at a slower speed to work correctly. If you have the DOS PC/core/emulator running too quickly, many issues can and will arise. The iMUSE music system can break entirely and go silent at parts, certain MIDI channels can slow down over time and produce incorrect notes, and the game itself has various issues at higher speeds. 386-25MHZ seemed to be the sweet spot here. Higher speeds also make digital voices sound more aliased and staticky, for some reason.

Even with the CPU set to a slow enough speed, there are still bugs in the game you'll want to watch out for. I encountered a bug at the second-to-last room in the game because I didn't wait for Sophia to finish entering the scene before I started the lava puzzle. Luckily I had test saves and just had to go through the Atlantis section again to splice the video together there, but without that I probably would have given up trying to record this video. This was my 4th attempt at recording a full video, with two of them encountering MIDI issues, and another with a capture card noise issue that started appearing near the end of the game. This was frustrating to record, and in the end I had to settle with a spliced video in the lava room. I also added a bonus scene showing one of the many deaths you can encounter in the game, which is quite a rarity for LucasArts. I like the variation of the theme they played in the death screen so I let it play for a while at the end.

For best results try and stick with "Variable" timing in the core (70hz) if possible, since the game is very touchy already and may even have issues when limited to 60hz.

The recommended music for this one is the Roland CM-32L. Choose that option on the mt32-pi or in MUNT on an emulator. It's quiet by default, so I recommend using the ] & [ keys in-game to change MIDI volume. (set two below max in this video)
