DAV School, Shahabad was established in 1917 by Lala Ram Parshad ji. This institution had been a center of excellence, of it's own type, for a long period. This school is having the oldest, magnificent building of the region. Many warriors, officers, teachers, players are products of this school. Shahabad is known for Hockey. Mandeep Singh, former captain of Indian hockey, was student of this school. Film Soorma, 2018 is based upon the story of Mandeep Singh. A portion of the film was shot in this school.
